Rs2241766(G;T) 0.6x decreased risk for breast cancer
Rs2241766(T;T) 00 normal

A study of 733 breast cancer cases for 10 SNPs concluded that the rs2241766(G;T) genotype was at reduced risk (odds ratio 0.61, CI: 0.46-0.80). [PMID 18451143]

After categorizing individuals by adiponectin signaling status, this study found that compared with high signalers, intermediate signalers had a 4.16-fold increase in breast cancer risk (CI: 0.49-35.19), and low signalers had a 6.56x higher breast cancer risk (CI: 0.78-54.89, p(trend) = 0.001).[PMID 18451143]

Adiponectin signaling status was assigned as follows:

rs1501299(G,G) + rs2241766(T,T) = low signaler
rs1501299(G,T) + rs2241766(T,T) = low signaler
rs1501299(G,G) + rs2241766(G,T) = low signaler
rs1501299(T,T) + rs2241766(T,T) = intermediate signaler
rs1501299(G,T) + rs2241766(G,T) = intermediate signaler
rs1501299(G,G) + rs2241766(G,G) = intermediate signaler
rs1501299(G,T) + rs2241766(G,G) = high signaler
rs1501299(T,T) + rs2241766(G,G) = high signaler
rs1501299(T,T) + rs2241766(G,T) = high signaler
