From SNPedia

My name is Jussi Paananen. I am a researcher at the University of Eastern Finland http://www.uef.fi and also associate researcher at the Broad Institute http://www.broadinsitute.org

I can be reached through my e-mail (by filling in my first and last names): firstname.lastname@uef.fi

My work is mainly focused on bioinformatics, genetics, genomics and systems biology. I work with both applied research studies, as well as develop new methods and software tools for research purposes.

I am the maintainer of Varietas, a SNP portal that can be used to annotate batches of SNPs. Among other data sources, Varietas includes information from SNPedia. Varietas can be found at: http://kokki.uku.fi/bioinformatics/varietas/

Some of my other SNP related projects[edit]

GeneCruiser a web-tool and service for converting and annotating genomic information (including SNPs). GeneCruiser is developed at the Broad Institute and is used by other related tools such as Haploview, SNAP and GenePattern. http://www.genecruiser.org

I have also worked on developing SNP and GWAS visualizing features to the Integrated Genomics Viewer (IGV). http://www.broadinstitute.org/software/igv/
