Talk:Rs11110912

From SNPedia

I strongly suspect wrong orientation OR 23andme miscall for this one.

Thanks for questioning this; here's what we see. dbSNP and the rs11110912 page are all consistent, as are the allele frequencies from Ancestry and 23andMe, so orientation is fine. What's off are the genotypes. The risk allele (as stated in the original 2007 article) is G, with a frequency in controls of 0.165 and in cases of 0.2. However, the association is not replicated in the subsequent 2008 paper. So overall it's a muddle, and a quick search of any paper in the last decade finding a statistically meaningful association between this SNP and BP yielded bupkus. We will edit the genotypes to minimize the association (with the minor allele). If you know of any recent data feel free to let us know. Greg (talk) 01:28, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
