A meta-analysis of four GWAS studies of coffee consumption among a total of ~8,000 coffee drinkers of European ancestry found that the rs6968865(T) was strongly associated with increased consumption (p = 2.3 x 10e-11). The estimated effect was an increase of 0.2 cups a day per allele for both this SNP and one other (rs2472297).[PMID 21357676
