Talk:Rs744373

From SNPedia

I click on "Make rs744373...", fill out some info, click "Save", and the fruits of my labor are gone from the main SNP page. --User:Epsilon4 2014-05-11 20:14 (UTC)

In any event, the OR for G at rs744373 is 1.17 (not sure whether there's a diff. between hetero- and homozygotes, though).

Your contribution has not been lost. If you look at recent changes you even have an easy way to see that it's still there. But there is some broken behavior when using forms at the moment so the Rsid does not correctly put into the rsnum template. I'll fix it in a few hours when I'm in front of a real computer again. --- cariaso 22:41, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

The relevant bug is upstream, and documented at https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56569 72.66.16.211 02:44, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

OK, thanks for the info. By the way, there's a veritable gaggle of people at apoe4.info wanting to add info to the dementia-related SNPs, but they're feeling a bit overwhelmed when they come here. Ex.: "'Make TT?' Make TT what? Can't they use normal English? Make is a transitive verb." Type thing. --User:Epsilon4 2014-05-12 13:27 (UTC)
P.S. When you get a chance, perhaps you can say something more coherent than what I just said here about how people can help. --User:Epsilon4 2014-05-13 06:05 (UTC)

So I created http://www.snpedia.com/index.php/Rs744373(T;T). Will some bot make it visible on the main page for the SNP, or will the above-mentioned bug screw this up? --User:Epsilon4 2014-05-17 07:12 (UTC)

I just did an experiment, making TT look like the other two combos (which are visible on the main page for the SNP). Still not visible. I'll stop now. --User:Epsilon4 2014-05-17 09:23 (UTC)

Lack of the 'rsid=' portion of the template breaks the genotype page. Once that was in place, the genotype page was working correctly. The second part is getting the genotype to appear on the snp page. It doesn't happen immidately, it takes a while for the wiki to realize that changes on the genotype page force the snp page to be redrawn. you can either wait it out, or make a dummy edit on the snp page. Afterwards the genotype page will be visible on the snp page. --- cariaso 10:23, 17 May 2014 (UTC)
