This is the best proxy for the number of repeats of the MAOA warrior gene. In 105 samples (69 males, 36 females) from the Stanley foundation brain collection, it was always A in people with the 4 or 5 repeat non-Warrior version and always G in people with the 3 repeat Warrior version. The combination rs909525(A) AND rs6323(T) AND rs3027399(G) indicate specifically that it is the 5 repeat version. The 2 repeat version and the 3.5 repeat version weren't mentioned.[PMID 16893905]
