You are a high risk of gout due to rs2231142 which is often treated with Allopurinol. You may also be carrying HLA-5801 makes you prone to several nasty side effects from taking allopurinol. This genoset is still new, and a bit overly broad. info@snpedia.com would like to hear from you to help us understand the frequency of this combination in various population.

Update: We have heard from at least one gs299-positive correspondent taking allopurinol for over 10 years to treat his gout, who has not had any side effects of note (HLA-5801 status is unknown though).
