Note that clopidogrel (Plavix) is not broken down by CYP2C19, but activated from prodrug to active drug. So impaired conversion leads to reduced medication effect, in this case platelet inhibition.

Thanks for clarifying this. Any chance you could point to some references that indicate the degree to which impaired conversion impairs the therapeutic effect, and any compensatory strategies (or dosages)?
